Northwest Trek

 We had a great day at Northwest Trek today.  Our first round through the exhibits was disappointing as most of the animals were sleeping, but at the end of the day we made one more round and all of the animals were up and about.  Our favorites were the red fox, the wolf, the wolverine, the beavers and the otters.

We ended up missing the tram because our lunch took forever, but we found a cool nature trail to check out instead.

 The otters were so funny.  They were so playful and interactive with the kids.  They both followed the kids shoes around like they were toys.  We laughed so hard!  They were awesome!

Random fun

We've been trying to enjoy these last few days of sunshine before fall arrives.  Here's just a few pics of what we've been up to.

Our friends Dino and Chenda just got a new boat and we were lucky enough to get to ride in it on one of the last warm days this year.  We took an adults only cruise, which was awesome!  We saw seals and porpoises during our cruise over to Boathouse 19 for dinner.  Such a fun evening!

Fair Day!

 We had such a great day at the fair yesterday.  We let the kids pretty much run the show and we just followed them around.  I thought Rylee might be ready for some bigger rides this year, but she seemed hesitant and a little scared to try any, which was fine for us! I think when Carson is big enough to go too she may be more willing to try some more exciting rides.

 The kids have been saving their money since the last fair so they had some cash to spend on other fun activities.  They wanted to try this ball on water thing, which looked pretty cool!  They loved it.

 They spent more of their money on this trampoline thing.  They loved bouncing high and doing back flips.  They did this one twice.

 They spent the rest of their money on cotton candy.  YUM!

This was the first year we've stayed late enough to see the Friday night fireworks.  They were pretty cool!  I loved how the farris wheel seemed to match the colors of the fireworks!  Such a fun evening at the fair!  It never disappoints.

Mommy and Son Zoo date

 Carson and I have been spending some quality time together since Rylee has started school.It's awesome to have this one on one time with him on Monday and Fridays.  Today we went to the zoo and spent the day checking out all the animals.  

Carson especially loved feeding the goats and watching the huge polar bear swim right next to him. 

He got a little nervous with the peacock getting so close to him.  Right after this photo it tried to steal his sandwich!  It was a fun mommy-son date.  Wore my little man out!  =)

1st Day of First Grade!

 Rylee's first day of school was a success!  She loves her class and her teacher, Mrs. Schukantz.  I can't wait to see what she learns this year!

Carson wanted his picture taken too even though it wasn't his first day.  He started pre-k at his daycare a week ago.  So far so good!  I'm excited to spend some one on one time with him while sister is at school.  =)

Seaside, OR

 We just returned from a quick 3 day trip to Seaside, OR.  Our friends Tania and Jason have been going for years and we finally decided to join them.  We had so much fun!  

 The kids loved riding their bikes on the promenade.  We stayed at a condo at the end of the beach so we rode bikes and walked into town many times a day. 

Our first day was the only day warm enough to play on the beach (with swimsuits on).  The kids played in the water and sand, flew a kite, and helped build a giant octopus on the beach.

 We had a blast playing in the heated pool.  The kids swam while the parents chatted and drank spiked sweet tea.  =)

 There was an AMAZING sunset our second night there.  We ended up having a really late dinner because we just could not pull ourselves away from the beach!  

 We had so much fun walking through town, riding on the promenade, playing lots of video games at Funland, eating lots of junk food and just spending time with great friends!!
