Camping with Uncle Peter

These kids are so lucky to have an adventurous Uncle (and previous boyscout leader/ eagle scout) who offered to take them backpacking this year.  They hiked to a cool spot in the Olympic National Forest.  From their camping spot they hiked to a mine waterfall and an old plane crash.
This was the plane crash.
This was the mine waterfall.
They did "leaf races" for hours in this stream.
They had so much fun.  What a cool adventure.  I want to go!
And how lucky are they that they get to ride back home in Uncle Peters plane?!?  Best weekend ever.

First Day of School- 5th and 7th

Rylee- 7th grade at Lakeridge Middle School
Her electives are PE (required), leadership and band (playing trumpet).  She is also involved in ASB.
She is playing VARSITY fastpitch for the school.  She will start volleyball through parks and rec in October.  She also wants to play basketball and volleyball for the school.
Carson- 5th grade at Bonney Lake Elementary, Mrs. Martin.  (Last year of elementary school!!! 😭)
He is playing fall ball through BLS little league and has also started his select baseball team.
The neighbor boys at the bus stop.  They started walking to school not long after this.  How are they old enough to walk to school alone?!?  At least he let me walk him to the bus on the first day. AND I got a hug in front of everyone😊

Labor Day weekend in Walla Walla- Blue Valley RV Park

We went to visit Lance's parents in Walla Walla over the Labor Day weekend.  We took the trailer and stayed at the Blue Valley RV resort.  It was better than expected!  It was clean and private, just what we needed.  It was walking distance from the community pool, and a short drive from Lance's parents house.
Friday we went to the fair and rodeo.  It was HOT... over 100 degrees.  The kids didn't mind a bit, they rode every ride there at least twice.  Once Carson got over his initial fear of the Screamer they probably rode it about 10 times!
We had a great visit.  Lots of walks and riding scooter/ bikes.  The kids liked having Papa's pool to themselves.
Lance and I ventured downtown Walla Walla one night to have wine and watch a band.  It was such a pretty night and the band was great!
Carson was obsessed with the high dive and the diving board at the community pool.  He's a pretty good little diver!
On the way home we stopped to let Coulee run around and go on a small hike.  She was loving all the attention she was getting from the kids.  Lucky dog.

More summer fun

We had a busy summer.  I'm not complaining, we did some really fun things!  Lots of camping, sports, boating, concerts and friend time.
Carson went to a Rainiers game for his friend Landon's birthday.  Lance and I got to go too since they had extra tickets!  They had a great time.  Carson even got an autograph from one of the pitchers.
Rylee went to a Seattle Storm game with her friend Eva.  They had a lot of fun.
Lance and I ended up with Covid on the 4th of July, so the kids went over to a neighbor's house to celebrate and watch fireworks.
Lance and I went to our annual Kenny Chesney concert at Lumen field.  It was delayed a couple of years due to covid, so it was great to have him back.  I was excited to have Old Dominion as one of the openers.  They are my favorite!!
We usually go with the Vehs, but they are traveling the country so were unable to make it.  We brought our friends Loan and Tony.  It was a great time!  We also met up with my sister-in-law Julie and her friend Kindra for some tailgating beforehand.
We had to go to the zoo this summer.  It's a tradition!  We saw the elephants giving themselves a shower, that was fun to watch!
We went to a few Rainiers games.  They are always a good time and a fun atmosphere.  We also made it to a couple of Mariner games.
We spent some time with friends.
Carson did a 3 day robotics camp at Bonney Lake High School.  He made a mini version of this robot.
The kids camped in the backyard a couple of times.
We did some boating/ floating/ tubing/ bridge jumping with friends.  The kids loved bringing Reese and Quin along because they are just as adventurous and crazy as they are.
I took Rylee to her first concert- the Weekend at Lumen Field.  I brought my friend Angie and Rylee brought her friend Alexis.  It was a great show!
Carson tried out for a select/ travel baseball team and made it!!  He is now part of the Diamond Sports family.  He made the 11U Bulldogs team.  He has already started practicing with the team.  Tournaments start in January.  He is very excited.  He and Rylee are also taking weekly batting lessons.
Lance and I went on a date night to see Thomas Rhett at the White River amphitheater.  He put on a great show!
We also went to see Russell Dickerson and Niko Moon at the fair with Jon and Mandy.
We went to a Mariners game with the Millers.
Sadly, the Millers moved back to Illinois this summer.  We will miss them so much!  We met them a couple of years ago through softball and became fast friends.  The kids were the same age and both into baseball/ softball.  Rylee and Reese became inseparable.  They even looked alike.  Carson and Quin loved building legos together.  Needless to say, their move was a heartbreaking way to end the summer!  😢 We hope to travel with them soon!
