Rylee's ACL surgery

Rylee fell while skiing on 12/30/24 and hurt her left knee.  When we found out it was her ACL we were devastated.  Luckily, we found a good ortho doctor and she ended up having surgery on Feb 15th- ACL reconstruction using her patellar tendon.  She did great and Kona was the perfect support system during recovery.  Unfortunately the recovery time is 9-12 months.  😞😢
She's been doing physical therapy twice a week since surgery and doing her leg exercises and she has still had trouble straightening her leg all the way.  The Dr was concerned about her progress so another MRI was done.  Unfortunately the MRI showed scar tissue in front of her knee, and possible injury to her lateral meniscus, so the Dr recommended another surgery to clear out the scar tissue and look at the meniscus.  Luckily, this would be just an arthroscopic surgery with minimal downtime and would not add any additional recovery time.

She had her second surgery on 6/20.  She did great, just like with the first one.  They were able to clear out the scar tissue and a big cyclops lesion that had formed.  He also took a look at the meniscus and found it had a very small tear, but nothing that needed to be fixed.  We were so relieved!  Now to get back to PT and start moving forward with the recovery process.  She is such a strong girl!

Last day of school- 7th and 9th grade

First/ last day of 9th grade, Rylee's freshman year at Bonney Lake High School.  She had an amazing year!🙌 Despite her surgery and missing many days of school she was able to maintain straight A's.  She made a lot of new friends and was on the Varsity softball team (as manager since she couldn't play).  We are so proud of her!
First/ last day of 7th grade at Lakeridge Middle School.  Carson had a great year as well.  He's still in the highly capable program and honors classes.  He also had mostly A's all year with the occasional B+.  He played varsity baseball and JV basketball.  He also made some new friends and continued to connect with old friends from different middle schools.  We are very proud of him as well! 😇
Kona had a great year as well!  She continues to be a big emotional support for both kids. 😍

New Level baseball

Carson's team this year: New Level 13u Wiltse.
I love these pics.  Carson looks so grown up!
One of the Moms on the team is a photographer so we get lucky with some great pics!

The won one of their tournaments in April.  It was a rainy day but the boys played great and brought home a ring!

Video of his 3 run Homerun! 🙌

Springtime fun

We went to see Niko Moon at the Showbox in Seattle.  Jon and Mandy are really big fans so they bought tickets for a meet and greet.  We got to tag along!  After meeting Niko and getting autographs we ended up in the front row.  Such a fun show.  I love his barefoot vacation vibes.
Carson's team had a couple tournaments in Shelton so we were able to stay at the beach house.  Carson's bestie and teammate Braden stayed over one night.  They lucked out with some really warm weather and were even able to swim!  Brrrrr... 🧊
They got in some paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing.  What a perfect spring day!
Kona is such a little person.  She loves going everywhere with us.
We made it out to the beach house a couple other times as well.  Its always a good time!  I came out with Rylee for a girls weekend with Kennedy and Mandy (and Gramma and Papa).  We had fun at the pool and playing games!
Carson, Lance and I came out for memorial weekend.  It was cool and cloudy, but Carson and I still had fun paddling over to the rope swing.  We played a lot of games this visit too.  My favorite!
My beautiful girl!  We found this photo op while shopping at Bellevue Square one day after one of her ortho appts.
Lance & I went to a Mariners game- row 6!  It was a lot of fun even though we couldn't pull off a win.
Rylee's team had a tournament in Portland.  They didn't do as well as hoped, but they had fun hanging out together and dressing up for dinner one night.
