Party time!

We had Rylee's birthday party at Jumpin Jack and Jills.  Yes, we had it here last year too.  What can I say, Rylee loved it so much she wanted to do it again!  It was a success.  Lots of friends came to help celebrate with us.  Rylee had a blast and is already asking if she can do the same thing again next year!
My sweet girl.  What can I say?  She is growing too fast.  She is just like a mini teenager with her attitude and bossiness.  She is very smart.  She can write every letter in the alphabet and can spell quite a few words now too: box, zoo, cat, dog, car.  She walks around with a notepad and pen asking "how do you spell..." and writing it down.  She can write most numbers (up to ten) and is working on (very) simple addition.  I have no doubt she'll be reading by kindergarten.  She is very caring and empathetic.  She is the kid in the crowd that wants to make sure every one is involved and feels welcome.  She is a little mother to Carson.  She loves taking care of him and telling him what to do.  She teaches him so much.  She loves to play with her horses and Barbies, loves to read (and be read to), and still loves to snuggle.  She does soccer and will start gymnastics soon.  I am so proud of the big girl she is becoming!

Happy 5th Birthday Rylee!

Rylee's birthday was pretty special this year.  Great Grandma Arlyss AND Grandma Marcia came on our "girl's day" to celebrate.  We started the morning with manicures and pedicures.
After getting our nails done we went to Tacoma mall to the "Build-A-Bear Workshop."  Rylee made and dressed up her very own pink kitty that she named "Pixie."  Next we met Auntie Mandy for lunch and more celebration.
Rylee came home to find her birthday present in the living room.  The one thing she asked for was a Barbie house.  How could we say no?  Now we have one more giant toy taking up space in our living room.  =)  She was pretty excited.  It even has a working elevator!
Later we went to Aunt Mandy and Uncle Jon's house for more presents and dinner.  Rylee was pretty excited to get a new Barbie and Barbie convertible, jewelry box, and best of all... a Seahawks jersey!
Happy birthday sweet girl!  I can't believe you are 5 already!!

Soccer and the Zoo

Rylee has been playing soccer again this Fall.  The weather has been amazing every day so far (knock on wood)... much better than her spring soccer days!  She has been improving a lot and seems to really like it.
We've had such good weather lately that we decided to take advantage of it and go to the zoo.  The animals were out and active.  Carson said his favorite animal was the Tiger and Rylee's was the elephants.  Mine was the walrus!

Grandparent visits are the best!

We were lucky enough to spend two weekends in a row out at the beach house (or I guess I can call it my parent's house since they live there now).  The first was just a relaxing overnight, and the second was when my Grandma Arlyss and Grandpa Willis were in town visiting from Minnesota.  We had a great time as usual.  Lots of good food, fishing, and my favorite thing to do with the Grandparents... card playing!
