A visit with Grandma J

We drove down to Corvallis last weekend to visit Lance's mom, Judy.  We had a great visit.  We did lots of walking around town, shopping, park playing, eating out, and hanging at Grandma's apartment with her kitty.  The kids loved it.  Rylee especially loved riding on her new princess bike that Grandma J surprised her with.  Love you Gramma!

Hoppy Easter!

Easter was pretty low key this year.  We usually get together with family, but this year my parents were still traveling back from Arizona and my sister was celebrating with Jon's family.  We started the morning with Easter baskets (they each got legos, a book and a chocolate M&M bunny), and an Easter egg hunt in the front yard.  Later we went for a walk in the beautiful sunshine and decorated eggs.  Super relaxing and fun.

A Girls Sleepover and Boys Weekend

We had our first sleepover last weekend with Rylee's best friends Alexis and Madeline.  The mom's (me, Tania and Michelle) also got to partake in the fun.  The girls had an amazing time.  There were only a couple of arguments (and they were mostly over a Cinderella princess dress) and everyone got over them quickly.  They played so well together.  They mostly played upstairs which made for a fun girls night for the moms!
Dress up, dancing, tattoos, jumping on the bed, laughing, movie watching, cheers
Just a few words to describe the night.
My friend Tania hosted and she definitely went all out.  The next morning we were spoiled with an amazing breakfast.  The girls have been talking about it ever since.  Time to plan another one!
While the girls were away the boys decided to take a quick trip to the beach.  Lance, Sherman, Carson, and Sherman's son Ronan (who is only 2.5 months older than Carson) had some definite "guy time."  As you can see from the pictures it was all boy.  No shirts, peeing off the deck, bonfires, fishing.  Needless to say they had a great time.

Egg hunting

The first egg hunt of the year.  Their school put it on for the kids and boy were there a lot of eggs.  They made quite a haul.  It was good practice for Easter next weekend.  I'm pretty sure the Easter Bunny's eggs will not be so easy to find!

Arizona adventures

The kids and I needed some sun so we hopped on a plane and went to visit family in Arizona!  It was quite the adventure to say the least.  We started off the trip by sitting in first class (thanks Uncle Jon for upgrading us)!  The first 2 days were the best weather, and of course Carson and I would both be sick with a stomach bug.  Yuck.  We still had fun despite feeling rough.  We stayed with Grandma Marcia and Papa Mike in their condo and we got to see lots of family that we only see once a year or so.  We also got to help Great Grandma Arylss and Papa Willis celebrate their birthdays.
Rylee made Grandma Arlyss a bracelet for her birthday.  She was quite proud of it.

We explored the Goldfield Ghost Town.  We toured the Ghost Town by horse and carriage.  The kids were in heaven.
A view of the Superstition mountains.  The kids also learned about cactus's.  Rylee was obsessed with the type of cactus that can "jump out and get you."  I never knew there was such a thing.  Crazy!  We took a train ride around the town, ate ice cream and enjoyed the scenery.  It really is a cool little town!

This was the condo pool.  The kids spent a lot of time here!
We visited Riverview park one cloudy day.  Such a cool park.  Tons of things to play and climb on.  There was even a zip line!
Another day we went to the "Lost Dutchman Days" rodeo and carnival.  The kids tried cotton candy for the first time... thanks Papa!  Of course they loved it.
We even got to go to one of Grandma Arylss' band concerts.  Rylee especially enjoyed it and even made Grandma play her clarinet for her when we got back home.  The kids danced to the music and put on quite a show for the crowd.
We spent lots of time just hanging out and playing cards.  Another fun trip in the books!  Where should we go next??
This is a video of the kids dancing to Grandma Arylss' band.
