Snow Day!

I had no idea it was supposed to snow today.  It was so cool to wake up to a white yard.  It's continued to snow all day and I have a feeling school will be cancelled tomorrow.  Fingers crossed!  =)

Another weekend at Great Wolf Lodge

Carson wanted to celebrate his birthday at Great Wolf Lodge like Rylee did, so we packed up and took a day off work and school.  Lance is out of town for work for 3 weeks so we had to celebrate a little early.  The kids had a blast as usual.  This time they spent less time at the water park and more time doing the Magi quest.  Its actually really fun!  We bought Carson a wand and the kids took turns participating in the quest.  Its like an interactive scavenger hunt.  The best part is you can bring the wand back and use it again every time you visit!  Pretty cool.

Winterfest 2017

We just got back from a weekend getaway in Lake Chelan with some friends.  I absolutely love it there.  It is so gorgeous.  This was the view from our room at Campbells Resort.  It was also the second weekend of Winterfest, so we had fun checking out the ice sculptures and other activities that were offered.
I loved that it was so snowy there!  The kids had a blast sledding and having snowball fights.  They would stay out there for hours if we would let them!
The first night we went bowling.  It was a first for Rylee and Carson and they loved it, especially since it was cosmic bowling and there were black lights and music!
Saturday morning we watched the snow machine drag races in Manson.  The parents had fun watching while the kids made snow slides and stairs with shovels.
Later that day we went wine tasting at Wapato Point Cellars.  It's one of my favorite wineries because they have swings and a merry go round right outside the tasting room.  So smart!  The kids played outside for a long time while the parents wine tasted and had apps.  So fun!
That night we watched the wish lanterns on the Manson waterfront.  It was so beautiful!
We also visited this cool pizza place in town called Local Myth Pizza.  It was delicious and the chef let the kids roll dough and watch him make pizza.  Score!
On the way home we stopped in Leavenworth for some sledding and brats.  It snowed while we were sledding.  It was so pretty!  It was a great way to end a memorable weekend.

Winter fun and firsts for Rylee

We've gotten quite a bit of snow this year (for us) and the kids have loved it!  As soon as they see snow falling they put on their gear and head outside.
We checked out Zoolights this year, it was so pretty but so cold!
The Reptile Man came to visit Rylee's school so we went to his show.  Carson got to meet Lucy the alligator.  She was so cute!  And what a cool show!
Rylee started playing basketball this winter.  This was a huddle before their first game.  It's pretty cute to watch the kids play.  Most are a little awkward, but they all try so hard!
Rylee has also started having spelling tests at school.  This was her 1st one and guess what?  She aced it!  So proud of her!

Happy New Year!

We spent the last few hours of 2016 celebrating at Mandy and Jon's annual New Years Eve cocktail party.  Such a fun time spent with good friends and family.
2016 was a big year for us.  We had lots of fun adventures.  Lots of camping and hiking, a family trip to Maui, a kid-free trip to Ixtapa, Lance turning 40 and also starting a new career.  I can't wait to see what 2017 has in store for us.  Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas 2016

We changed up our Christmas traditions a little this year,  Mandy and Jon hosted the annual Christmas Eve party and invited all of Jon's family.  It was really fun.
Christmas Day the kids woke up to a pile of presents by the fire and stockings filled to the brim with goodies.
Later that morning Mandy, Jon, Grandma and Papa came over for breakfast and a fun, family filled Christmas day.  We opened gifts, played lots of cards, and ate our traditional dinner of prime rib and crab.  YUM!!  We also helped Papa celebrate his birthday.
