Weekend at the beach house

We recently spent another great weekend at the beach house.  The first night was windy and perfect for kite flying!
The next day was warm and calm.  We took the boat out and went over to the rope swing across the water.  The kids looooooove this rope swing!  And its even more fun with a little push from Papa.

We had to go to the pool every day.  It's the kids favorite thing to do!  The new tradition is ice cream after swimming- Papa's treat!
The kids are getting really great at kayaking.  They just take off and kayak with the seals.  I prefer paddle boarding.
We took the boat over to Hope Island to explore.  We saw a couple deer laying in the shade, and a raccoon walking up the beach.  The raccoon looked a little scraggly.  We joked that he probably had covid.  😄
We passed a little marina and saw a heron and tons of seals.  The seals could care less that we were there checking them out.  They were so cute!  When we got back to the beach house and were on shore a seal decided to jump in the boat and relax.  It was the funniest thing!  My parents weren't too thrilled about it though and scared him out.
Rylee is such a little helper.  She especially loves helping Grandma and Papa.  She and Grandma made an apple crisp with apples from one of their trees.  It was delicious!
On the way home we stopped to show the kids where we got married.  The marina and gazebo was still just as beautiful and I remember it.  It was fun to show the kids where we started our family! 💗

Mini getaway to Ocean Shores

The kids and I took a mini road trip to Ocean Shores to enjoy the last little bit of summer vacation. We stayed only one night at the Quinalt Resort and Casino, but  in got in plenty of beach time.
The sand was SO warm!  It felt so good on bare toes.
I took the kids to a few fun little shops around town.  Sharkys is an Ocean Shores landmark!  We had to pick up a few treats too.  😃
The kids had so much fun collecting the clear little "jellies." There were tons of them on the beach.  Their favorite part was running from the waves.  Mine too!
We even saw a jellyfish in the water.  It was pretty cool.  Such a fun little getaway!

Cle Elum Lake

We just returned from a spontaneous, last minute trip to Lake Cle Elum.  We were hoping to camp, so we packed up and left Friday morning to check out a few campgrounds.  After going to 4 campgrounds that were all full, we decided to stay in a hotel and just go play at the beach.  It was a great decision.  The kids got in some pool time, and plenty of beach time.  I'm not the most spontaneous person, so it was a little stressful for me at first.  It ended up being a really fun weekend with so many memories made.  I am grateful for friends who go with the flow and put up with our crazy adventures!
I had been wanting to check out this beautiful lake since I'd seen it on a friends social media.  It did not disappoint.  We were able to drive onto the beach right up to the water.  Friday evening was pretty windy, but we still had a great time playing in the sand and swimming.

We came back Saturday morning to  spend the day.  The beach was really busy, but we were able to find a little sandy spot to set up camp.  The kids loved riding on the truck bed down to the beach.  The weather was amazing and we spent the day floating, swimming, digging holes in the sand, and indulging in delicious food and drinks!

We had planned on staying another night, but weren't able to find a decent hotel to stay in.  We drove home at 8pm and stayed in our comfy beds.  All in all, a super fun weekend was had by all.  We will definitely be back to this gorgeous lake.  Hopefully to camp next time!
