Fall 2023

Fall has been a fun season for concerts.  Lance and I went to see Tyler Hubbard at the fair.  It was a "Dancing in the dirt" concert which was fun to be so close to the stage.  There was some great people watching!
Obligatory school pics.  They turned out great this year!
We went to see Morgen Wallen at the Tacoma Dome with some friends.  The concert was so great but the dome was so incredibly crowded!  I've never seen it like that and that part wasn't fun.  The lines for beer and the bathroom were insane!  An Uber home cost us $180 😒
Kennedy hung out with us one night while her parents went to a concert.  We made some delicious cookies with lots of sprinkles!
Rylee did her annual fall trip to the pumpkin patch with Ariya and Eva.  The Moms and Carson also tagged along!  We had fun with all the photo ops.  We also did the Hocus Pocus themed corn maze.  It was a beautiful day!
We hosted our yearly Halloween party this year and this is the only picture I got!
We saw Old Dominion at Climate Pledge in November.  They were amazing as always!
Carson's baseball team helped with the Big Give.  It was really cold, but a great experience for them!
Rylee played on the varsity basketball team for school this year.  The Hawks did great! They ended the season with 9 wins and only 1 loss to Glacier.  Rylee was voted the most improved player! 🙌
Carson was one of the basketball managers.  He went to all the games and helped with keeping stats.
Rylee also played volleyball through Parks and Rec.  Her friend Ariya's mom coached.  The team didn't do so great but they had a lot of fun!
Rylee got her 2nd set of braces on in October.  I think it makes her look younger... I love it!

Thanksgiving in Walla Walla

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Walla Walla this year.  Lance's Dad and Step mom Annette live there and offered to host the family.  We drove over Wednesday to make the most of our time there.  Thursday we had a Thanksgiving meal at the country club they belong to.  It was delicious!

They rented a house for the family.  It was a nice big house with a perfect layout for hosting a family gathering.  Annette was such a gracious host.  We hardly had to do anything!
Papa Tom took the kids and grandkids to Starbucks one morning to meet all of his buddies.  What a special treat!
Downtown Walla Walla was so pretty!  We had a wonderful family filled weekend with great company, food and lots of game playing.   We are so thankful for this family time!

Halloween festivities 2023

Rylee carved the pumpkin on the left.  Its hard to see but its a witch stirring her pot.  Carson carved the one on the right.
Lance and the kids did a great job decorating the front porch this year.  It was really spooky.
Rylee went trick or treating with her friend Eva and I talked Carson into tagging along with us (I was the other lego man).  They looked so cute as Mario and Luigi!  We went to sky island.  Lots of fun Halloween decorations but the amount of candy was kind of a bust.  They decided they would stick with our neighborhood next year.

Tournament of Screams

Rylee's team competed in their first tournament last weekend.  All the teams dressed up in costume.  They looked so cute!
They lost all three games the first day.  They went home that night, got some sleep and reset.  They came back on Sunday and won all 3 games!
They ended up coming in first in the skeleton bracket, and each won a t-shirt!
It was a fun experience and they did great for their first tournament as a new team.  They'll only improve from here and I'm excited to see what they can do this year!

Varsity baseball/ softball at Lakeridge

The kids just finished their baseball/ softball season at Lakeridge Middle School.
We had great weather for some games, and others games were rainy and muddy.  Typical WA Fall weather!
Rylee did not have a great season.  Her last 2 years on varsity were so much fun and this season was a let down, mostly because of coaching issues.  They ended the season with 3 wins and 6 losses.  Now to continue her select softball team and move onto school basketball!
Carson had a great season and had so much fun.  He was the only 6th grader to make the varsity team and he definitely held his own!  He started every game and mostly played 2nd.  He even got to pitch the end of one game and did great!  The boys ended the season with 7 wins, 2 losses.
The older boys were really welcoming to him and a few of them took him under their wings.  It was really sweet to see.  I'm so proud of my boy!

Rylee’s new softball team- Sundodgers 14u Morris

Rylee’s previous Sundodgers team, 14u Honey, moved up to 16u this year so Rylee decided to join a new team.  She wanted to stay at 14u another year (they can stay 2 years at each age level) and play with girls more her age.  She tried out for 5 different select teams (the Lady Knights, Avengers, 2 Acers teams, and Sundodgers).  She got offers for all of them!  She decided to stick with the Sundodgers since it’s close to home and we’re familiar with the organization.  I’m happy because we already have all the gear!🎉

She joined 14u Morris and is loving it so far!  She been playing shortstop which is great.  Last year she was only able to play outfield and she really prefers third base or shortstop. They’ve had a few scrimmages so far and lots of practices.  She is already bonding with some of the girls.  We’re hoping this year of softball will be a great one for her!
Their first tournament is Oct 21-22 "Tournament of Screams."  They even get to wear costumes!  Stay tuned...

Happy 14th Birthday Rylee!

I can’t believe my baby is 14!  My smiley Rylee is becoming a beautiful, smart girl.  She is so kind and caring, and just a wonderful human.  She loves cleanliness and organization.  She’s a girl after my own heart ❤️.  Her room is always spotless and perfectly organized.  She also helps out around the house without being asked… what teenager does that?!?  She manages to keep straight A’s despite her busy schedule and multiple sports.  We are so proud of her!

She had a fun birthday weekend.  Saturday morning she had her friend Lydia over to hang out (Lydia had softball practice so couldn’t come to the later festivities).  Later in the day we took her friends Ariya and Eva to Ocean5 for some duckpin bowling, laser tag, arcade games and dinner at Table 47.  We ended the night with bubble tea.

Sunday Rylee and I celebrated with a girls date to get manicures and pedicures.
On her actual birthday (Monday night) she had a rainy softball game at school and then we met Grandma and Papa and Jon, Mandy and Kennedy at Red Robin.  Happy bday to Rylee! 🎂
