Happy 17 years to us!

We celebrated our 17 year anniversary with a day trip to Roche Harbor.
We are very lucky to have our own private pilot 😜(Peter) who flew us over for the day.  It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for flying!
When we arrived we sat outside and had a delicious lunch at the Lime Kiln Cafe (fish and chips and chowder).

After lunch we wandered around the street market, walked the marina, checked out the sculpture park, did a little wine tasting and then had an amazing dinner at the Madrona Bar and Grill.
Its such a beautiful resort!  It was a wonderful way to celebrate 17 years together! 🩷

Sweet Summertime

Last team photo for Carson's 13u team.  It was a really fun year!  Unfortunately only half of them are returning next year.  (Some aged up due to starting high school and a couple changed teams).
We spent 4th of July at the annual Berg party on Lake Tapps, then came back to the neighborhood to hang with the crew for the evening.  Fun times as always!
We spent a day on Lake Washington at Shreya's family home (cousin Mathew's girlfriend).  They took us on a sunset boat ride, it was so beautiful!
Lots of boat time was had this summer!
Did lots of fishing, tubing and rope swinging.
The kids had a blast taking out lots of different friends this summer.
We went to see the Weeknd at Lumen field.  He put on a great show!
Kennedy and Kona helped celebrate Harley's birthday. 🎂

Carson and Lance did some salmon fishing on the Puyallup river.
We went to the annual Sequim Craig BBQ.  Its always fun to hang out with the cousins and see how much the kids have grown!
Lance and I went to see Morgan Wallen at Lumen field.  It was so much fun!
Kona has a new bestie!  Our neighbors got a new puppy- James, and Kona was immediately in love! They are so sweet together. 🩷

A visit with the Vehs

Our besties came to town!  They were here for 2 weeks from Texas visiting friends and family, and we got them for 5 whole days!
The first couple of days were cool and overcast, so we relaxed and just hung out.
We went to Top Golf one evening.  I lost horribly but we all had fun!
We had the Moe's over for an afternoon.  We left the kids home and the parents walked to the BLT for lunch.  It was great catching up!
We spent a couple days on the boat... our fav!  The kids tubed and rope swinged, and the parents relaxed and floated.
I miss them already!

Rylee's ACL surgery

Rylee fell while skiing on 12/30/24 and hurt her left knee.  When we found out it was her ACL we were devastated.  Luckily, we found a good ortho doctor and she ended up having surgery on Feb 15th- ACL reconstruction using her patellar tendon, plus LET with IT band autograft (for added support and stability).  She did great and Kona was the perfect support system during recovery.  Unfortunately the recovery time is 9-12 months.  😞😢
She's been doing physical therapy twice a week since surgery and doing her leg exercises and she has still had trouble straightening her leg all the way.  The Dr was concerned about her progress so another MRI was done.  Unfortunately the MRI showed scar tissue in front of her knee, and possible injury to her lateral meniscus, so the Dr recommended another surgery to clear out the scar tissue and look at the meniscus.  Luckily, this would be just an arthroscopic surgery with minimal downtime and would not add any additional recovery time.

She had her second surgery on 6/20.  She did great, just like with the first one.  They were able to clear out the scar tissue and a big cyclops lesion that had formed.  He also took a look at the meniscus and found it had a very small tear, but nothing that needed to be fixed.  We were so relieved!  Now to get back to PT and start moving forward with the recovery process.  She is such a strong girl!

Last day of school- 7th and 9th grade

First/ last day of 9th grade, Rylee's freshman year at Bonney Lake High School.  She had an amazing year!🙌 Despite her surgery and missing many days of school she was able to maintain straight A's.  She made a lot of new friends and was on the Varsity softball team (as manager since she couldn't play).  We are so proud of her!
First/ last day of 7th grade at Lakeridge Middle School.  Carson had a great year as well.  He's still in the highly capable program and honors classes.  He also had mostly A's all year with the occasional B+.  He played varsity baseball and JV basketball.  He also made some new friends and continued to connect with old friends from different middle schools.  We are very proud of him as well! 😇
Kona had a great year as well!  She continues to be a big emotional support for both kids. 😍
