Big girl bed!

We got Rylee a toddler bed off of Craigslist last week and decided to put it together last night.  To my surprise, Rylee loved it and wanted to sleep in it... ALL NIGHT!  I thought it would take some time to transition out of the crib, but maybe I was wrong!  She looks so precious sleeping with her baby (and pillow, and blankie, and stuffed animals) in her new big girl bed.  I'm so proud of her!
Another first.... we were at Alexis' 1st birthday pool party this weekend (our friend Tania's baby girl), and Rylee swam all by her self!!  She's been in the water a lot, but would never try to swim without us.  Saturday she got in the water in her life jacket, and pretty much took off!  By the end of the day she was swimming laps in the pool and wanted no help what-so-ever.  I couldn't believe it!  She is growing up WAY too fast.

Baby on the way!

Yes, it's true!  We are expecting our 2nd child!  I am 13 weeks pregnant and due February 26th.  We couldn't be happier!  I had my 1st ultrasound Friday and everything looks great.  The above pic is the baby's profile and below is the baby waving (so crazy to see the whole hand)! Rylee is excited too although I'm not quite sure she knows what it means.  When we ask where the baby is she points at her tummy!

Banks Lake 2011

We just got back from 6 sun and fun-filled days at our favorite place on earth... Banks Lake.  We had so much fun with tons of family and friends.  Lots of water, sand, fishing, holy balls, sand-castle and river building, swimming, and some amazing food. The water was down a lot this year so we found some awesome beaches (one of my favorites we named muscle beach). The time always goes by way too fast.  We will be counting down the days until Banks Lake 2012!

More kayaking

I forgot to post the pic of Lance and Rylee kayaking at the beach house.  It is the cutest thing and I had to share.  On another note, we are headed to Banks lake this week for our annual trip.  I'll be sure to post pics when we get back!

Summer is finally here!

We had a warm and sunny weekend so we took full advantage of it.  Friday Lance and I went with friends to the Kenny Chesney concert at the Tacoma Dome.  Saturday and Sunday we went out on the lake and spent lots of time with friends and family.  We LOVE summer!!!

Alaska!

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Homer, Alaska.  Lance grew up there and was excited to show us his home town.  I must say, he was a great tour guide!  Alaska is beautiful, I finally see what all the fuss is about!  We rented a house for a week with my parents, and my grandparents rented a motor home and stayed at an RV park nearby.  It was a fun, relaxing trip.  Enjoy the pics.

There are a bunch of little boardwalks along the Homer spit.  Lots of shopping and restaurants, my favorite!
Rylee enjoyed eating outside every morning, looking for a moose (or as she says "moosh").  We actually did see a Mama moose and 2 baby moose the last night we were there.  So cute!

Rylee was obsessed with all the fish.  She loved to watch all the freshly caught fish come in from the boats.
One cloudy day we spent at the ocean and wildlife center.

We even got in a little beach time.

One night we took a 45 minute boat ride to Halibut Cove.  There was a great restaurant and a little boardwalk of art galleries.  The scenery was absolutely stunning.

We even found a few horses at Halibut Cove!
The moon was absolutely gorgeous this night.  We never made it to sunset.  I must say, it was weird having the sun shining when we went to bed at 11:00 at night!
The guys went fishing and caught a LOT of halibut.  The biggest caught was 40lbs.  Needless to say, we'll be eating halibut for a long time!

The house we stayed at had a hot tub that Rylee LOVED.

The scenery was amazing.  I wish I had a better camera to show it!
Lance and I were there for our 3rd anniversary.  We snuck away to a nice dinner, and this was our view.  Beautiful.
A good time was had by all.  We ate some delicious food, got some quality family time in, went on a few adventures, and saw some wonderful scenery and wildlife.  We will definitely visit Homer again!
