A birthday weekend in Leavenworth

We've started a new tradition of spending Lance's birthday weekend in Leavenworth.  It's just a fun way to start the summer.  We rented a really cute house close to downtown, and invited lances parents to spend the weekend with us.
I got some great pictures of the kids (they were feeling cooperative and photogenic)... Always a plus!
We spent some time at the beach playing in the sand and (freezing cold) water.  We did lots of walking around town and on the river walk.  We also ate lots of yummy food!
The kids had so much fun spending time with Papa Tom and Anna.  We don't see them nearly enough!
There was a fun little petting farm close by that we had to check out.  The kids loved feeding the animals.  One of the goats got a little aggressive and tried to eat Rylee's dress!  She was a little freaked out after that.
I think the kids' favorite part was the hot tub.  Carson discovered he could float in his life jacket and thought that was the coolest thing.  He swam back and forth many times.  It was great practice for this summer!
Happy birthday Lance!

Springtime fun

+
We've definitely had some fun this spring!  Today I took the kids to Coulon Park for some beach and lake time.  They were in heaven.  Probably two of their most favorite things... water and sand.  It is so much fun to watch them play together.  Especially when they are not fighting (which is pretty often these days)!

We've done lots of playing outside.  Lots of yard work, planting, and watering.  =)  Rylee has come with me a couple of times to get pedicures.  She is hooked!  Of course she HAS to have pretty toes for those springtime sandals!
A couple of weeks ago we met some friends at the zoo.  That is always a fun time.
Of course we've had some rainy days too.  Those days are perfect for a trip to Wiggle Works, one of out favorite indoor play areas.   Carson is such a good climber now!  He makes me so nervous... he is fearless!

Soccer in the rain

Rylee had her first soccer practice yesterday.  Of course it was POURING down rain.  She had fun but was a little icicle afterwards.  It was so much fun to watch all the little kids running around kicking the ball.  We are doing soccer through a program called "Kidz love soccer" and there are no games.  It's all about learning how to play and having fun doing it.

More Easter fun

Since we were in Cali for Easter we decided to celebrate it the weekend after with my parents and sister.  We had an egg hunt for the kids in the backyard and a delicious ham dinner that night.

Carmel, CA

We just got back from a long weekend in Carmel, CA.  Lance's sister Tamara and her family live there.  Rylee was absolutely in love with her cousin Mira who is 12.  She followed her everywhere.  Luckily Mira didn't seem to mind too much!  =)  There are no pictures with cousin Ryan well, because he is a teenager, and we all know how that goes.
We spent lots of time just playing!  We went to a park the first day, and another day we went tide pooling.  Carson especially liked that.  He loved looking for little crabs and other creatures.
Carson loved having Uncle Chris read him stories.
Rylee's favorite part of the trip was getting to see Mira's horse.  She got to help brush, feed, and get the horse ready to ride.
They both were in heaven riding that horse.  I didn't think we'd ever be able to leave!
We also spent time at the beach.  There was a little lagoon that the kids loved playing in.  They were so cute to watch!
The last day we visited the Monterrey Bay aquarium.  Wow....  What a fun place!  The kids had a blast looking at and touching the sea life.  Favorites- the sea horses, octopus, sea otters, and the giant tank.  We even saw a huge sea turtle.  Very cool.
What a fantastic weekend.  We were so spoiled.  We basically had our own chauffeur and a fabulous tour guide.  Not to mention all of our delicious meals were prepared for us!  Thanks Tamara!
