The other day Rylee asked me "Mom, why am I five and can't tie my shoes?" I honestly did not have an answer. So we did some practicing (a lot of practicing), and voila... she can now tie her shoes!

Happy Halloween 2014
Halloween was busy, busy this year. We started off the day meeting my Friends Michelle and Tania and their kiddos at Wiggle Works for a little Halloween party and playtime. There was a scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, and lots of fun snacks. It was a great way to start our Halloween! That evening I took the kids trick or treating. We went in our neighborhood and also down Aunt Mandy's street. The kids made out like bandits! Rylee dressed up as Elsa from Frozen (she is obsessed with her), and Carson was a fighter pilot. After trick or treating we hung out at Mandy and Jon's house, dancing and eating pizza. What a fun Halloween!

Pre Halloween festivities
Last weekend we carved and decorated pumpkins. Rylee really got into it this year and did a pretty good job. Carson liked stabbing the pumpkin with the carving tools.
Rylee decorated this mask all by herself. Pretty cute!
Today we visited Maris Farms for some pumpkin patch fun. We did the haunted corn maze (Carson LOVED it but Rylee was pretty scared) and all kinds of other pumpkin patch activities. The kids had a blast!

Fun on the Farm
Last Friday we visited Fox Hollow Farm with friends. It is such a cool place. Lots of animals, pony rides, pumpkins, bouncy houses, train rides, and even a corn pit to play in. The kids loved it. Carson was prepared wearing his cowboy boots. He told me that morning "I need to wear my boots so I can ride a horse."

Party time!
We had Rylee's birthday party at Jumpin Jack and Jills. Yes, we had it here last year too. What can I say, Rylee loved it so much she wanted to do it again! It was a success. Lots of friends came to help celebrate with us. Rylee had a blast and is already asking if she can do the same thing again next year!
My sweet girl. What can I say? She is growing too fast. She is just like a mini teenager with her attitude and bossiness. She is very smart. She can write every letter in the alphabet and can spell quite a few words now too: box, zoo, cat, dog, car. She walks around with a notepad and pen asking "how do you spell..." and writing it down. She can write most numbers (up to ten) and is working on (very) simple addition. I have no doubt she'll be reading by kindergarten. She is very caring and empathetic. She is the kid in the crowd that wants to make sure every one is involved and feels welcome. She is a little mother to Carson. She loves taking care of him and telling him what to do. She teaches him so much. She loves to play with her horses and Barbies, loves to read (and be read to), and still loves to snuggle. She does soccer and will start gymnastics soon. I am so proud of the big girl she is becoming!
