Ryan's graduation in Monterrey

We just returned from a family-filled vacation to Monterrey, CA.  We stayed in a huge 5 bedroom house with most of Lance's family.  It was a little chaotic but a lot of fun.  The kids loved being with their cousins 24/7.
The kiddos had fun making everyone s'mores and eating as many marshmallows as they could before the parents could stop them!
We visited the Monterrey Bay Aquarium one day.  Some of our favorites exhibits were the otters (always my fav!), the open sea tank, and the kelp forest.  We spent a lot of time watching the schools of fish swim around, changing directions quickly when a shark or another predator would come close.  So cool!
Lance and I got to sneak away one evening and go to a spa!  It was definitely different than the normal spa experience but it was great.  We started with 10 minutes in the sauna (there was a regular sauna and then a eucalyptus steam sauna), then moved onto a cool or cold (45 degree) pool, then relaxed by a fire, then spent some time in a warm or hot pool.  Then repeat the cycle 3-5 times.  It sounds busy but it was actually really relaxing and fun!  I
would definitely do it again.
Rylee got to spend an afternoon with her cousin Mira whom she absolutely adores.  Rylee got to watch her ride her horse and also got to have a sleepover with her.  She was in heaven!
Saturday was Ryan's graduation.  It was a really nice ceremony.  He is off to UC Santa Cruz next year.  Exciting!
We had to spend some time at the beach even though the weather was not ideal.  It was chilly but the kids still had a blast playing in the sand and water.  The grown ups (well, Lance and Aaron) made an awesome beach fort.  They were pretty proud of themselves and ready to post it on Zillow!
Carson is obsessed with his cousin Ace.  He thinks he is the coolest EVER.  It's pretty cute.
The older cousins actually went body surfing.  Brrrrr!
The kids were lucky enough to be able to ride horses at the ranch where Mira keeps her horse.  Carson got to ride two horses, Noble and Darlyn.  He loved it and did not want to get off!  Rylee rode a bigger horse than she was used to.  She enjoyed it but definitely had a harder time controlling Blue.  She was very happy and much more confident  when she came home and rode Rain again at her lesson.
On our last day we explored Fisherman's Wharf before heading to the airport.
Such a great trip with lots of family time.  It was so awesome seeing the kids bonding with their cousins.  I wish we all lived closer so they could spent more time together!
