Memorial Day weekend at Seaquest State Park

We spent Memorial Day weekend at Seaquest State Park in Castle Rock.  It was our first trip without hookups.  It ended up working out perfectly!  We ran out of water the last morning, but had plenty of propane and battery left.
It was such a cool campground.  We stayed in a site that was really private and woodsy.  The kids immediately started exploring and found a really cool area to make a fort.  They were in heaven.
Lance had just redone his outdoor kitchen area so he was very excited to use his new Blackstone grill.
We had a lot of fun exploring the campground area.  There was a park for the kids, lots of trails, and a cool tunnel under the road that lead to a boardwalk.  The Mt St Helens visitor center was there too but sadly closed due to covid.
The view was so pretty!
Saturday we drove up to Mt St Helens.  All the visitors centers and observatories were closed, but it was still fun to see the mountain up close.  We drove up to the Johnston Ridge Observatory and stopped at a couple viewpoints along the way.  The mountain was absolutely stunning!
It was just a little windy at the top!
On the way back we stopped at Coldwater Lake for a picnic lunch and a walk along the lake.  There were some beautiful views there too!
Back at the campground we checked out some of the trails.  The kids rode their bikes around and worked on their fort.  They used moss for the "carpet" and made a bedroom and 2nd story.  It was a pretty cool fort!
We ended the night with a campfire and smores.  Another great camping weekend in the books!
