BLS All Star 11u State Tournament in Anacortes

We just returned from an exciting week of baseball!  Carson's little league All Star team made it to the state tournament in Anacortes, so we packed up the camper and headed out for an unknown amount of time.  The tournament was double elimination so we had no idea how long we would be there.  We stayed at the KOA in Burlington with a few other baseball families.
The very first night Carson ended up with a fish hook in his lip.  He and a buddy were fishing in the stream when he accidentally got hooked.  We tried to get it out ourself with no luck, so we ended up at the urgent care at 9pm.  Luckily we got in quick and they were able to get it out (after three numbing shots).  We were home and asleep by 11:30.  A little excitement to start the tournament!😅
The tournament started Saturday morning with a parade of all the teams.  There were 13 districts (teams) participating.  BLS is district 10.
Our first game was Saturday at Storvik field vs. Larch Mountain.  Sadly we lost this game 4-11.
We had lots of supporters for the tournament.  Grandma Marcia and Papa Mike stayed in Anacortes for a few days, and Uncle Peter flew over to watch.
Sunday was a free day so we got together with Grandma Marcia and Papa Mike.  We explored Anacortes, did some shopping downtown and had lunch at Secret Cove.
We drove up to Cap Sante to check out the view.  It was so beautiful!  We also drove over to Washington Park to check out the beach.  Then back to the campground to swim.  The kids had to pool to themselves for a good hour!
The boys were supposed to play Monday evening but it rained so hard they cancelled the game.  They ended up playing a double header on Tuesday.  The first game they played Camas and won 13-3.  The second game they played Salmon Creek and won 13-1.
Lance made a video montage of all of Carson's hits.
Carson pitched the game against Salmon Creek.  He pitched all four innings (they ended the game early for a 10 run rule).  He did great and we were so proud of him!

Wednesday they played Bellevue National and unfortunately lost 1-5.   They played a great game and just couldn't pull through.  They finished 6th place out of 13.

They got a medal for placing 6th, and BLS gave them tournament rings.
They improved so much during the season and got in some great bonding time.  What a great opportunity this was... possibly once in a lifetime!  I'm so proud of these boys.
The boys had a great time at the campground.  They may have more fun camping than they did playing baseball!  The KOA had a little creek where the fished day and night.  Only Colby caught fish, but they still had fun.  What a great week of making memories!
