We finished the nursery!

We finished the nursery! Yay! Actually- Lance finished the nursery while I mostly watched and asked when he was going to be finished! It is so cute... I love it! It's hard to capture how cute it is in pictures because the room is so small! Now all we need is a little baby to go in it!

We've been pretty busy lately. We took a birthing class last weekend at St. Joes. It was a lot of info packed into one long day... but I think it was helpful! Taught us some breathing techniques and some labor postitions. I feel slightly more ready after the class so I guess it was worth it. We have a breastfeeding class Monday night. I am looking forward to that as I hear breastfeeding is not as easy as it sounds! I pray for the best!

Little baby Craig is still doing well. She is moving constantly... flipping and turning and kicking. I think she might be a gymnast like her Aunt Mandy! She likes to play hide and seek with her Dad at night. And surprisingly she is wide awake and moving like crazy when I am working... then she is quiet and asleep when I go to bed! I hope she is born to be on my schedule! I have Dr's appointments every 2 weeks now for the next 2 appointments and then we go to every week. I can't believe that we have less than 7 weeks to go! I am praying that everything stays well and I can continue working up until the end. It's getting harder... but will be worth it if I can spend the whole 3 months with her after she is born! 6 more work weeks... I can handle that! (I hope)!

Kenny!

We went to the Kenny Chesney concert this weekend and had a blast! It was my 5th time seeing Kenny in concert. He was amazing! I made a shirt (below) and got lots of attention from it! We are at the 30 week mark now... I can't believe how close it's getting!

A fun weekend

We went to Banks Lake last weekend (our annual trip). We had so much fun! Five days filled with water, sun, and good friends and family. Lance's 2 brothers (along with their families) and his Dad came this year. It was a large bunch. We couldn't even fit everyone in our boat. Luckily our friends Elisabeth and Sherman came along and toted the others around. It was so nice to have 5 days of pure relaxation. It was definitely hard to come back home and back to work! We slept in a tent on an air mattress and amazingly I was pretty comfortable every night! In fact, I'd like to go camping again this summer!
I have made it to the 7 month mark. Actually, 29 weeks today. I can't believe how close it's getting! It reminds me of all the things we have yet to do!! Lance is upstairs painting as we speak. We have decided on a first name but are keeping it a secret. A few people are not very happy about that! We have had lots of guesses but none even close! We finished (mostly) the baby registry last week and we take our childbirth preparation classes next month. Hopefully I will feel a little more prepared after that!
Here's a pic of me at Waikiki beach (at Banks) last week. 28 weeks along. And no- I promise that is not a beer in my hand!

It's getting harder

I just got done working my 3 12 hour days of work and I am exhausted!!! It's already getting so hard to be on my feet that long; I can't imagine what it will be like in 2 months! At the end of last night my feet hurt, my back hurt, and I had a headache. I'm not one to complain... but I still have 3 months of this to go! My belly is only getting bigger and bigger, so I can't imagine it will get any easier! I slept until noon today and still feel like I could go back to bed!

Besides being exhausted, I am feeling good. Went out on the boat all last weekend which was so much fun and relaxing. Our other baby (Coulee) learned how to jump off our friend's dock! We felt so proud the first time we saw her jump off! Imagine what it will be like when we have a real baby that is doing all the firsts!

Lance finished painting the nursery. He still has to paint the closet, but that is easy. It is a pretty bright green apple color. I can't wait to see it all put together!

An update...

Well...I haven't written lately because there hasn't been much going on! My pregnancy has been going well. We had our 6 month check-up and everything is going fine. I was excited to find out I had only gained 5 pounds... last month I gained 10 and was thinking that was so much! The Dr. is very sweet and has been reassuring me that everything is going just the way it should. She said our baby is in the 85th percentile, which is good, but worries me that she'll be hard to deliver!

We finally started the nursery (well, sort of). We bought the bedding (we decided to go for the green and blue fish bedding), and also bought white trim and bead board for the walls. We are going to paint a light apple green. Hopefully it will turn out cute! I'll let you know once we actually start putting it all together!

I was in my friend Tania's wedding this weekend which was exhausting but so much fun! The baby got to eat cake and dance the night away! The night was perfect. The baby has also been in the boat quite a bit! Hopefully she will love the water as much as Lance and I do!

Not much else going on... I will write when something exciting happens!

Baby room

So we finally started removing items from the baby room (aka man room). Poor Lance. But he has moved his X-Box down to the 48" flatscreen with HD so I guess he can't complain. What a job though. 2 TV's, a TON of furniture, and so many photo albums I don't know what to do with them!

We went to Babies R Us yesterday to start looking at bedding. Sounds like it would be fun, right? They had absolutely nothing that I liked! All of the pink bedding was way to cheesy and girly. All I want is a simple brown and pink comforter! Is that too much to ask for? No elephants or ladybugs or flowers. Polka dots maybe. We fell in love with a sea themed bedding set that was a purply-blue, teal, and a bright green color. It was too cute. I wonder if we could get away with making that into a girl room?? If we play up the purply- blue color? I used to think that girl stuff was so much cuter and easier to find. We found out yesterday that is not the case at all! I found a million boy bedding sets I liked and not one girl set. Sad. Oh well... I guess we still have time to look.

That's about as far as we've gotten on the baby shopping/ baby room stuff. I feel like we should have so much more done by now! Other than that, everything else is going well!

I'll give it a try.

My first blog... ever. I really don't even know what to say! I thought it might be fun to start blogging so my friends and family can watch the status of my pregnancy come along. I love reading friend's blogs about their lives so hopefully others might enjoy reading about my life too.

Well, I am 22 weeks pregnant with my first child. Lance and I got married last July and figured we weren't getting any younger so why wait. Little did we know that it would happen so fast! I found out I was pregnant in February and boy was that a surprise! I was excited, but also scared out of my mind. I thought to myself, are we really ready to bring another little life into this world? What kind of parents would we make? Even though months have passed, I still am scared to death! But there is no turning back now, so I can only hope that we will be ready when the time comes. Already life has changed so much. I can't imagine what it will be like when there is a little Lance/Michelle running around! But we are ready. We are over the staying up late/ bar scene/ getting wasted days. Don't get me wrong, we are still ready to party and hang out with friends at anytime, but our crazy troublemaking days are over.

So anyway, we found out 2 weeks ago Friday that we are having a girl! Yay! I am very excited to have a mini me to dress up and tote around with me! We went to Miami and Key West 2 weeks ago with my sister Mandy and her boyfriend, Jon. We decided when we had our last ultrasound that we would wait to find out the sex until we were on vacation. So we had the ultrasonographer put the sex and the colored socks in a sealed envelope that we could take with us. In Miami we went to dinner at this cute little restaraunt and decided to open it as the sun was setting while we sat outside. It was so exciting to find out it was a girl! We then spent the rest of dinner calling every one we knew to tell them the news!
I felt her kick for the first time the same day we found out the sex. I think she was trying to tell us that she wanted us to know. It is a really incredible feeling to feel the baby kick. I always wondered what it would feel like, and how would I know that's what I was feeling? It just feels like a little flick. Amazing. Now that I can feel her inside me, the whole pregnancy thing actually feels real. Up to that point I hadn't really felt pregnant at all. I haven't had any morning sickness or back pain or anything (yet). Besides gaining a million pounds (or at least it feels that way) and a little (okay, really) fatigued, I've felt pretty normal. But now I have a little bump and can feel the baby kicking. Crazy!!

Anyway, that's pretty much all I have to say for now. That's just a little introduction to me and my life. My new amazing journey. More to come...
