Happy Easter (a little late)

This Easter was a fun one for sure. We had my parents and sister over for dinner and a little celebration. We managed to sneak outside in between the rain to hunt for eggs. We weren't sure how into it Rylee would be, so we pretty much just threw the eggs around the yard. Little did we know she would LOVE it! She had so much fun putting the eggs in her basket and shaking them to see if there were treats inside.

Little Mommy

Rylee's new thing is taking care of her 2 little babies. The other morning I walked in her room and found her just like this, sitting on her chair with the babies beside her, covered in a blanket. She had turned on her music, and was reading them a story. Absolutely adorable. I HAD to take a picture. The purple baby is her absolute favorite. She takes it everywhere. What a sweet little mommy!

Animal Sounds

Thought I'd share a video I took this weekend of Rylee in the bath. Super cute!

What we've been up to

We've been keeping busy this month. We've been trying to get outside as much as the weather will let us. Rylee absolutely LOVES being outdoors. This is why we had to get her a new toy! A couple weeks ago we took a road trip to Bend, Oregon to visit Lance's brother and his family. Rylee had so much fun chasing her cousins Jack and Ace around. The parents even got a night out to experience the Bend Ale Trail. There are some VERY cool breweries in Bend, and some very yummy beer! Rylee had fun playing with all of Jack and Ace's toys. She makes a good pirate I think. Argh!
Last week Lance and Rylee spent the day in Seattle while I was at work. They started out at the Seattle Center, took the monorail downtown to explore, and then ended at my work to bring me coffee and chocolate! A good day had by all! =)
Her first escalator ride by herself. What a big girl!
Got a free pear... delicious! (She calls every piece of fruit "apple.")
This weekend Lance's parents, Tom and Annette dropped by for a visit. Rylee is absolutely IN LOVE with her Grandpa. It is so sweet seeing them together.
It's been a good month so far!

18 months

**Wow. Where has the time gone. I can't believe I have a toddler. Rylee turned 1 1/2 on Saturday. She is the love of my life and my little angel. Yes, she can be a monster and a handful (can't imagine what the terrible twos will be like), but somehow her messy kisses and tight hugs make up for all of that. **She can talk so well now. She can't quite say a whole sentence yet, but says thing like "I sit" and "hi dog.". Her favorite words are "uh-oh" (which coincidentally was her first word) and "whoa." She is obsessed with sitting on our bar stools, and can (almost) eat with her spoon and fork. She loves to dance and swim and play outside. She is madly in love with her dog Coulee (and all other dogs for that matter). Coulee is such a good sport, they really are BFFs. She loves to run, and tries to jump (her feet don't quite make it off the floor yet), and loves to take baths. She also likes to sing. She sings "e-i-e-i" from Old MacDonald and "row row" from Row Row Row your Boat.**She just graduated from her 1st swimming lessons. She learned to blow bubbles in the water, kick her feet, paddle, jump in and put her head under water. She absolutely loves the water... any water. We frequently find her standing on the toilet with the sink water on, washing her hands and whatever toys (or keys, or chap stick, etc.) she can find. We decided to wait a little while before doing the next set of lessons, instead lance will just take her swimming every couple of weeks. **She is the sweetest little monster and we love her to death. I can't imagine a life without her. Seeing her beautiful eyes (they change from brown to blue now depending on her outfit), her little brown curls, and hearing her yell "mommy" makes me smile everyday. Happy 1/2 birthday to my sweet girl!!

Project update

Lance recently lost his job, so he has been keeping busy with his "honey-do list." Here are pictures of his recent projects:

He put bamboo wood flooring in our master bedroom (it was carpet before). It looks amazing. Our master bathroom used to be carpet. When we moved in we said this would be the first thing to go. Well... you know how house projects go. Needless to say, it's finally gone! We now have a beautiful brown porcelain tile floor in it's place.
We still have plans for more upgrades to this bathroom but in the mean time this will do. He still needs to finish the baseboards, and then he also has a little mirror project in the works. It's kind of nice having him home to do these things that we never had time for!

More beach time!

This weekend we ventured out to the beach house to celebrate Mandy's birthday. It was mostly rainy, but we found a few sun breaks to sneak outside and play. Rylee's favorite part of the beach is feeding the seagulls with Grandpa. She LOVES the seagulls. Every time she sees them she squawks and squeals at them. Rylee made a special bond with Grandpa this weekend, and now calls him "pa pa" (although it sounds like "ba-ba").
Rylee wanted to sit in the kayak after hearing Jon's story about going overboard the day before. Brrr!!
She got to spend some time with Auntie (or "A-nie" as Rylee calls her) and Uncle Jon. They spent a few nights there to celebrate Mandy's birthday. My parents came up Friday night and we all got to relax and catch up together. We do not see them enough!! Miss you guys!
