Birthday fun... Day 1

 We started off Rylee's birthday weekend with her BFF's Alexis and Madeline (and their parents Michelle & Adam and Tania & Jason). 

 We all ventured to Seattle and spent the morning at the Children's Museum. 

 We all had fun playing, coloring, and chasing each other around.

 After we were all tuckered out we headed to the Old Spaghetti Factory for some lunch.  Amazingly, every one was on their best behavior and the lunch went smoothly.  What a great day and a great start to a fun birthday weekend!

18 weeks

 That's right, I'm now 18 weeks along.  All is going well and we are all getting excited.  Rylee seems excited too, although I'm still not sure she knows what it means.  When I ask her about the baby she points at my tummy and says "out." 

Potty training

 Yes, that's right, we are learning to use the big girl potty.  She has gone the last 3 nights in a row now... so exciting!  Not sure what it is or why, but she only wants to go at night.  Oh well, baby steps!

As for me, I'm 17 weeks along and feeling pretty good.  We should find out the sex next month, I can't wait!

The asthma strikes again

We had a pretty eventful last couple of days.  Rylee started getting a cough and wheezing last week so I took her into the doctor on Thursday. Apparently it was a little worse than I thought.  Her oxygen level was barely 90, up to 92% on oxygen.  The doctor recommended that I take Rylee to the ER by ambulance.  That was pretty crazy for me, being on the other end of it.  By the time we got to the ER and checked in Rylee was feeling a lot better.  But, after waiting 4 hours (getting treatments and other things), she started to get more short of breath and her oxygen level dropped again.  The doctor decided to admit her overnight.  So, Rylee and I spent the night in the hospital.  She got lots of breathing treatments and liquid steroids, and luckily was feeling much better by the morning.  We finally got back home around 5.  It feels so good to be home!  Overall, we learned a lot about pediatric asthma and (hopefully) how to better control it and manage her symptoms.  There is so much that I do not know.  It's one thing treating kids in the ER, but it's a totally different thing watching and caring for your own sick baby.  Being in the hospital brought me back to when she was in the NICU after birth.   We've all come so far and I hope she never gets this sick again! 

Big girl bed!

We got Rylee a toddler bed off of Craigslist last week and decided to put it together last night.  To my surprise, Rylee loved it and wanted to sleep in it... ALL NIGHT!  I thought it would take some time to transition out of the crib, but maybe I was wrong!  She looks so precious sleeping with her baby (and pillow, and blankie, and stuffed animals) in her new big girl bed.  I'm so proud of her!

Another first.... we were at Alexis' 1st birthday pool party this weekend (our friend Tania's baby girl), and Rylee swam all by her self!!  She's been in the water a lot, but would never try to swim without us.  Saturday she got in the water in her life jacket, and pretty much took off!  By the end of the day she was swimming laps in the pool and wanted no help what-so-ever.  I couldn't believe it!  She is growing up WAY too fast.

Baby on the way!

Yes, it's true!  We are expecting our 2nd child!  I am 13 weeks pregnant and due February 26th.  We couldn't be happier!  I had my 1st ultrasound Friday and everything looks great.  The above pic is the baby's profile and below is the baby waving (so crazy to see the whole hand)! Rylee is excited too although I'm not quite sure she knows what it means.  When we ask where the baby is she points at her tummy!

Banks Lake 2011

We just got back from 6 sun and fun-filled days at our favorite place on earth... Banks Lake.  We had so much fun with tons of family and friends.  Lots of water, sand, fishing, holy balls, sand-castle and river building, swimming, and some amazing food. The water was down a lot this year so we found some awesome beaches (one of my favorites we named muscle beach). The time always goes by way too fast.  We will be counting down the days until Banks Lake 2012!
