We just returned from our annual Banks Lake trip. Once again, it was amazing. 6 days filled with sun, water, friends, beers, tubing, great food, laughs, dancing, moonlight cruises, cliff jumping and just plain relaxing. Many, many memories were made. Here are just a few pics of our trip...
We were there during a crazy dust storm. We decided to ride out the beginning of it and hide on the water in the relaxation station in a little cove. We put the cover on the front of the boat and had the kids hang there out of the wind and dust. It was actually pretty cool. We have many funny stories and memories from that hour!!! When a small break in weather came we decided we better head back in case it got worse. We made it back just before another wind/dust storm hit and headed out to dinner for safety. Luckily the wind only lasted a short time. By morning the weather was calm and beautiful again. We've decided our Banks lake song of the year is "Kick the Dust Up" by Luke Bryan. Very fitting!
The kids did tons of tubing this trip. Double tubes or triple tube, they didn't care, as long as they were being pulled behind the boat! They literally road the tubes everyday, at least twice a day. Rylee tried skiing once too. She got right up, but then Lance slowed the boat and she fell forward, scaring herself. She didn't want to try again, even after all our encouragement!! Oh well, maybe next year.
Unfortunately for us, Jon and Mandy won back the title of "Holy Balls Champions."
