The memorial was in Corvallis, Oregon and the burial was in Newport, Oregon. The memorial was so beautiful. Lance's brother Peter did an amazing job. I learned so many things about Gramma J that I didn't know. I had no idea that she was a dancer, and she and Lance's Dad used to do (and win!) dance competitions. She was an advocate for the disabled and did a lot for her community. She was a great Grandmother, Mother, and Friend. She will be fiercely missed, but we have peace in knowing she is not suffering any longer. We know she is looking down at us. Proof of that is in this rainbow at her burial. π
Rylee wrote a beautiful poem that she (and the other cousins) read at her burial. I know Gramma J would have loved it so much. Carson melted my heart when he asked for some time alone with Gramma. π
The weekend was spent with family, reminiscing and talking about our favorite memories. The kids had a lot of cousin time. It was so great to see them supporting each other. Gramma J would have loved watching them all together. Her Grandchildren were her biggest joy.
When we got home Rylee immediately made a little memorial to Gramma J in her room. We also added some Gramma J ornaments and pictures to our little tree in the family room. She will be missed so much! π
