Getting so big!
We had another doctors appointment today(her 4 month check-up). Every thing went very well. The doctor said she is absolutely perfect! She is growing like a weed. She is now 15lbs 8 oz and 26 inches long. She lost a little weight since her appointment last week because she was sick, but the doctor said she should gain it back in no time. She is still in the 95th percentile for height and down to the 75th percentile in weight. He said we can start giving her baby cereal now once a day. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that yet! She is growing so fast!!She keeps busy trying to put everything in sight in her mouth. She reaches for things now and is starting to like to play with her toys. She is a drool machine. I think she may start teething soon. She is the cutest thing I've ever seen and I feel blessed every day to have her in my life.

Much better

Rylee is doing much better. The bug lasted only about 24 hours and then she was back to her old self. I may be an ER nurse, but when it comes to my own child, every thing seems so much worse!! It was a scary situation at first, but she pulled though and is just fine. What a trooper! She is developing so much personality these days. She will lay on her mat and talk, talk, talk. When we sing her songs she will sing along. She has this little squeal she does when she is happy... it is so cute! She is just so much fun!!!
That's all for now. Just wanted to let every one know she is doing well! Will post more pictures soon.

Our first sickness
Tuesday early morning Rylee woke up screaming with a fever and trouble breathing. It was really scary. She was grunting and had shallow respirations. We thought for sure it was pneumonia again and contemplated going to the ER. We decided to try Tylenol first. After about an hour she was much calmer and her breathing seemed to be better. We took her to the pediatrician that morning and they swabbed her nose to check for the flu and RSV. They also checked a blood count and listened to her lungs. Luckily, the tests came back negative and they told us it was just a viral illness and should slowly get better on its own. They also said her throat was red and irritated but no signs of strep throat. Lance and I both stayed home and took turns letting her sleep in our arms.
Today she is doing better. Her fever is gone and she seems to be breathing easier. I think her throat is still bothering her because she keeps grunting and clearing her throat. She's also developed a runny nose and is drooling a lot. She is pretty fussy and wants to sleep a lot. I am home again today with her... officially using up all of my sick/ vacation time. (I used it all for my maternity leave). Lets hope she stays well for a while after this.
We recently interviewed a nanny (stay at home mom of 2) about watching Rylee during the day. It went really well. It would be a little more expensive than a day care, but she would get lots more attention. She lives a 1/2 mile from us too which would be very convenient. We are still thinking it over and may still interview other day cares, but at least we have some options!
I will keep you updated on Rylee's status. She is currently sleeping peacefully in my arms. Heaven!

A weekend at the beach
We spent this weekend at the beach house. It was rainy and cloudy most of the time, but we still managed to get a long walk in. The rest of the time was spent relaxing; watching movies, eating yummy food, and snuggling with Rylee.
We are having some issues with our day care. We really like the woman who runs the day care, and Rylee really enjoys the kids, but she recently told us that we either had to 1. start picking her up at 5:30, or 2. pay $30 more a week so she could hire someone for the extra hour. This is very frustrating as we were very specific with our needs, and she had only been there 3 weeks! Thankfully, my parents are able to help pick her up early, but I don't want them to have to do it forever! Lance and my schedules are not very flexible to be able to get out that early. So, needless to say, we are starting our search again. I will keep you updated.

Back to work... boo!
So I've been back to work for 2 weeks now. It's actually not as bad as I thought it would be. It is definitely hard to leave Rylee every day (well... 3 days), but it is kind of nice to get away and have some adult interaction. It is fun to hear all the gossip from my co-workers about their lives... mine has changed drastically over the past few months. Definitely not as exciting as it used to be, but very much more rewarding. Rylee is my little angel and I wouldn't trade her for the world! She is doing well at daycare. They just love her there and she seems to have fun too. I know she enjoys watching all the kids run and play around her.
What a little cutie pie! Every day I look at her and wonder how she got to be so darn cute!
This last weekend was a busy one for us. Friday I had a class at work so Aunt Nory and Janice came to babysit. Saturday I had a massage, we went for a walk, Aunt Patti and Uncle Chugger, and Grandma Jacobson came to visit during the day, and then we all went to the Selden house for a murder mystery party. Sunday was spent recovering and relaxing. Also had another visit from Grandma. Friday, January 1, 2010
Almost walking!
Rylee got some new frog jammies or Christmas from Aunt Diane and she loves them (and so does her mom)!
