Lance and I just returned from an amazingly fun and relaxing trip to Puerto Vallarta. We flew down there first class- talk about spoiled! It was a great way to start the trip.
We stayed at the Sheraton. It was beautiful and in a great location. Walking distance to the malecon (the boardwalk).
Our friend Mark planned this trip to celebrate his 40th birthday. We met up with him and his friend Kenny every night for dinner, drinks, and exploring the city. They were so much fun to hang out with!
The city was all decked out with Dia de los Muertos decorations. It was so much fun to see.
Lance and I went exploring one day and discovered El Parque de los Azulejos- it is so beautiful. Everything is covered in colorful mosaic tile- and almost everything has been hand tiled. Its absolutely stunning!
We had lunch on the beach off of the malecon one day. We were serenaded with a beautiful spanish song while eating our delicious tacos and nachos. My absolute favorite part about Mexico!
Lance and I spent a lot of time at our hotel pool. Lance even won a bottle of tequila in a breath holding contest!
We ventured down to a local market to peruse the shops one day. It was cool seeing a traditional mexican town. The San Miguel Arcangel church was stunning. It was so hot we didn't last long and eventually headed back to the pool.
There was so much to see along the malecon. Statues, street performers, shops, restaurants, bars trying to compete on who can play the loudest music. We walked it almost every day.
We spent some time with Kenny and Mark at the beach. It was so fun drinking buckets of beer in a chair on the beach and swimming in the warm ocean. There was great people watching too!
Later in the week more friends arrived. We had delicious dinners and told so many stories. Mark has been to Puerto Vallarta multiple times, so he took us to all of his favorite restaurants.
We went to one of Mark's favorite restaurants- twice! Jorges Hideaway Shrimp Shack was awesome. The atmosphere was colorful and fun, and the food was to die for. The owner, Jorge treated us like kings and queens- he made us his specialty dishes and margaritas, and ended the dinners with tequila.
Lance and I went to the marina to have breakfast one morning. We strolled along the walking path and looked for iquanas. We also found the resident crocodile.
Such a fun week of making memories with friends. I want to go back!
