We stayed in San Antonio for the first 2 nights at a cute little hotel near the Riverwalk.
We got to the hotel around 7, so we had just enough time to explore the riverwalk and eat at a delicious wood fired pizza place.
The following day we visited the Alamo and did more exploring around town.
We visited the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum. It was pretty entertaining!
We went to dinner at a mexican restaurant and then took a boat tour along the river. Of course we had to bring a prickly pear margarita with us!
The rest of the trip we stayed with the Vehs in their new house in Boerne. They took us to all their favorite local spots. The Screaming Goat was a favorite for the live music and goats outside to keep the kids busy!
They took us to The Treehouse, another favorite. It was so awesome! The atmosphere was so fun, they had a huge outdoor area for the kids, and swings in the bar area for adults. There was also an adults only bar upstairs. We caught a beautiful sunset the night we were there.
The following day we explored the downtown area of Boerne. It rained on and off, but the shopping and breweries were great!
It rained that evening as well so we went bowling. It was a great time!
We checked out The Rustic next to the bowling alley. It was such a cute place! Would love to go back sometime when there is live music outside!
The next day they took us to explore the town of Gruene. I loved it! We ate lunch at the Gristmill. It was such a cool place, and delicious food! We also checked out Gruene Hall, which is Texas' oldest dance hall. I would absolutely love to come back and watch live music here too! The kids played pool while we enjoyed our Yuengling beer.
Our last day was a little nicer weather so we spent it in downtown Boerne. We walked along the river and did a little more shopping. We bought some souvenirs and ate at food trucks outside of Free Roam Brewery. We even saw Jay Buhner at the brewery!
The weather didn't quite cooperate, but we still had an amazing trip. It was great to reconnect with some great friends that we hadn't seen in a while. Love them all so much. We spent so much time talking about all of our memories together, and all the adventures we will have in the future. We will definitely be visiting again soon!
