Going bananas for bananas!

Rylee tried her first actual baby food tonite... bananas!! She loved them so much she ate 2 containers of them! She likes to help feed herself... she is constantly grabbing the spoon and putting her fingers in her mouth. Needless to say, dinner time is messy!

Rolling Rylee

I can't believe our baby is almost 6 months old! Time goes by so fast. She changes so quickly these days. Every week is a new milestone. Coulee is still doing great with Rylee. She lets her tug on her ears and joules without a peep. The hardest part is keeping her from licking Rylee's face... she loves it!
Rylee has started rolling over! She rolled over for the first time last week, and has been doing it more and more ever since! She can roll over in about 2 seconds these days. I can't wait for her to start crawling. So exciting!

She is also liking to be on her stomach more and more. She used to cry after about 2 minutes, now she will even play on her stomach!
She discovered grass for the first time yesterday. She loved touching and playing with the slippery green grass! I can't wait for the summer to come so she can play out side more. So much for her to see and feel!
We have been walking a lot since the weather has been so nice. She loves to walk both in her stroller and front pack. She loves looking at all of the trees and flowers. She usually lasts about a half to three quarters of the walk before falling asleep.

Jack and Rylee

Here is another pic from this weekend. Jack (Rylee's cousin) just adores her. He calls her "my baby Rylee," and always wants to hold her hand. So sweet.

A weekend of wedding adventures

Rylee's first swing

Lance's Uncle Stuart got married this weekend, so we spent the weekend traveling to and from Monroe to partake in the wedding activities. Friday night was the rehearsal dinner, Saturday was the wedding, and Sunday was brunch and a tour of his new home in Bellevue. It was a beautiful ceremony and Stuart's bride is amazing!

It was fun spending the whole weekend with family. The cousin's got to play together and the adults got to chit chat and catch up. Rylee was a little angel all weekend. She was such a trooper letting every one hold her and snuggle her.

A beautiful weekend.

What a beautiful weekend. We enjoyed the sun by taking many walks to the lake (both Lake Tapps and Lake Bonney). Rylee loves taking walks, both in her stroller and in her front pack. She usually lasts about half the walk before falling asleep!
Thursday our day care provider came down with pneumonia and couldn't watch Rylee. We had to quickly scramble to find someone to watch her, or call in sick... again! We called on Rylee's favorite babysitters- Janice (aka Ma Thomas) and Nory. Luckily they were available. Rick even stopped by to keep Coulee company. We are so fortunate to have such great friends that will drop things at a moments notice for us. (It helps that they are retired). Thank you so much guys! Rylee loves you both so much. They have already taught her to hold a ski rope, dance, and play cards! =)
We are again having day care issues. I have come to believe that it is never ending. The assistant that our day care provider hired is no longer working there. So... we are back to having to pick up Rylee at 5:30. Lance is able to get off work early this month, but who knows about next month. We have called pretty much every day care provider in this area. Lance thinks every thing will work itself out, so I am trying not to worry about it.

Happy 5 months Rylee!

Happy 5 month birthday Rylee!

I just can't believe my sweet little baby will be 5 months old tomorrow! Where has the time gone? I can remember like it was yesterday the day we brought her home from the hospital. We were so excited and nervous about what was to come. Now it seems like she's always been here. This little angel has blessed our lives in so many ways. She has changed our lives forever. No more late nights, no more "alone" time, no more spontaneous vacations with just the two of us. But I wouldn't have it any other way. My life feels more complete; my heart feels more full. I feel so lucky to have her.

We have so many friends that are having trouble getting pregnant (or can't). Sometimes I wonder why God chose us to be parents over them. They are all wonderful, strong, loving people who would make a child so happy. It just isn't fair. I just hope that Lance and I can be the kind of parents that our friends would be if they had the chance.

Rylee is doing really well with her cereal. She has figured out how to control her tongue and actually swallow the cereal (instead of spitting it all over her face). She enjoys eating it and we enjoy her sleeping through the night with a full belly!
