Summer please don't go!

I recently cut back my hours at work so now I have every other Thursday off.  This last Thursday called for sunshine and 80 degree weather, and luckily I was off, so we decided to enjoy one last day on the lake.
Coulee was very excited to get the kids from school early and head out on the boat.  Her happy place!
What a great way to end the summer.  I'm counting down the days until the sun comes back again!

Fair Day!

We were bad parents and took the kids out of school early on Thursday to have a FAIR DAY!  It was so much fun this year because the kids were finally tall enough to go on some of the bigger rides.   Mom and Dad actually got to ride too!  Rylee and Carson both said their favorite ride was the Gravitron.  (The one that spins so fast in a circle that you float up the wall).  We spent so much time riding rides that we didn't get to look at many of the animals.  Next year I'm taking them out of school for the whole day!  No judging!

Girls Day/ Sleepover!

My friend Tania's daughter Alexis invited us all for a girls day/ sleepover for her 7th birthday.  It was so much fun!  We met at a coffee shop/ wine bar and started the outing with Italian sodas and champagne.
Next we all went for pedicures.  Amazingly the girls were all well behaved and seemed to really enjoy the pampering!
After pedicures we headed to Hop Jacks for some burgers and celebrating.  After dinner we headed back to Alexis' house and had cupcakes and did more partying!  The girls stayed up till almost 1 am which made for some tired mamas the next day.    It's so much fun to have friends with daughters that love each other like we do!  Hopefully their bond will last a lifetime.
While we were out having girl time, Lance and Carson decided to have some guy time.  They camped in the backyard in the rain.  Love my guys!

1st Days of School

Rylee started school last Wednesday.  She is now in 2nd grade.  Her teacher in Miss Matthews (who was her student teacher last year).  She says she wants to be a be a cowgirl when she grows up (and live on a farm) and then sing karaoke on the weekends.  ðŸ˜„
Carson started kindergarten today (Monday).  He was so excited.  He woke up with a smile on his face and couldn't wait to get on the bus.  His teacher is Mrs. Salsbury.
Rylee was great at showing Carson the ropes and making him feel comfortable this morning.  Lance and I followed the bus to school and walked with Carson to class.
When he got to class he was the first to sit at his desk, ready to learn with a big smile on his face.  He blew us kisses and said good-bye.  I have to admit, I did get a little teary eyed.  It was hard to be sad though when he was so darn happy and excited!

End of summer fun

We've been having as much fun as we can before summer is over and school starts.  I am so NOT ready for fall!!   I'm hoping we have a few nice weekends left before it starts getting too chilly outside.  We've been to a couple of Tacoma Rainiers games this summer.  This one was was awesome because the kids got to go on the field for a little parade and even got on the big screen!  Too cool.
Rylee and Carson have spent a lot of time at my parent's beach house this summer.  It's been awesome.  There is so much for them to do- beach, water, pool, kayaks, paddle boarding.  They are basically in heaven when they are there.  When they aren't there they are constantly asking when they can go back.
Rylee got to spend some alone time with my parents at the beach so we took Carson to a Rainiers game.  He loved being the only child and getting all the attention.  He got plenty of treats and a security guard even gave him a game ball!
Carson and I spent our last day alone together before school starts at the zoo.  We had fun just hanging out together.  I tried to get in as many snuggles as I could.  I'm really going to miss him!

Labor day weekend at Alder Lake

We spent a fun weekend checking out Alder lake with friends.  It's near Eatonville and only about an hour drive from our house!  It was hot and the lake was cold.  Made for a perfect combination!
Some friends brought a coupe SUP's and a kids kayak.  The kids had a blast.  They are absolutely in love with the little kayak.  It is now on my wish list.
We love finding new lakes and campgrounds in the area.  We'll definitely be back!
