BLS All Star 11u State Tournament in Anacortes

We just returned from an exciting week of baseball!  Carson's little league All Star team made it to the state tournament in Anacortes, so we packed up the camper and headed out for an unknown amount of time.  The tournament was double elimination so we had no idea how long we would be there.  We stayed at the KOA in Burlington with a few other baseball families.
The very first night Carson ended up with a fish hook in his lip.  He and a buddy were fishing in the stream when he accidentally got hooked.  We tried to get it out ourself with no luck, so we ended up at the urgent care at 9pm.  Luckily we got in quick and they were able to get it out (after three numbing shots).  We were home and asleep by 11:30.  A little excitement to start the tournament!😅
The tournament started Saturday morning with a parade of all the teams.  There were 13 districts (teams) participating.  BLS is district 10.
Our first game was Saturday at Storvik field vs. Larch Mountain.  Sadly we lost this game 4-11.
We had lots of supporters for the tournament.  Grandma Marcia and Papa Mike stayed in Anacortes for a few days, and Uncle Peter flew over to watch.
Sunday was a free day so we got together with Grandma Marcia and Papa Mike.  We explored Anacortes, did some shopping downtown and had lunch at Secret Cove.
We drove up to Cap Sante to check out the view.  It was so beautiful!  We also drove over to Washington Park to check out the beach.  Then back to the campground to swim.  The kids had to pool to themselves for a good hour!
The boys were supposed to play Monday evening but it rained so hard they cancelled the game.  They ended up playing a double header on Tuesday.  The first game they played Camas and won 13-3.  The second game they played Salmon Creek and won 13-1.
Lance made a video montage of all of Carson's hits.
Carson pitched the game against Salmon Creek.  He pitched all four innings (they ended the game early for a 10 run rule).  He did great and we were so proud of him!

Wednesday they played Bellevue National and unfortunately lost 1-5.   They played a great game and just couldn't pull through.  They finished 6th place out of 13.

They got a medal for placing 6th, and BLS gave them tournament rings.
They improved so much during the season and got in some great bonding time.  What a great opportunity this was... possibly once in a lifetime!  I'm so proud of these boys.
The boys had a great time at the campground.  They may have more fun camping than they did playing baseball!  The KOA had a little creek where the fished day and night.  Only Colby caught fish, but they still had fun.  What a great week of making memories!

Rylee's solo trip to visit Reese

Last summer Rylee's BFF moved back to Illinois.  They have been talking almost daily since then, so we decided to get them together this summer.  Rylee was a little nervous to fly solo, but she did great!  Lance was able to walk her to the gate so that helped ease her mind.
They went to the Medieval Times dinner show.  They sat in the VIP section and one of the knights even gave the girls a rose!
They went to Chicago for some sight seeing and a little beach time.
They had some deep dish pizza- Rylee though it was the best ever!
They also made it to a Chicago Cubs game.  It was rainy and stormy so the game was delayed 3 hours!!
Before going back to the airport they stopped at the St Louis Arch.  They did the museum and went on the tram to the top of the arch.  Pretty cool!
Rylee had a great time visiting Reese.  They even had a true Midwest experience hiding in the basement during a tornado warning!  The girls  watched countless Netflix shows, went swimming, visited family, and had lots of girl time.  Just what she needed!  💖

BLS 11u All Stars- District 10 champions!

Carson made the 11u little league all star team!  He was so excited to wake up to a sign in the yard. 😃
The coaches took the boys to a Mariners game as a team building event.  They had a great time!
The BLS 11u team started their All Star tournament on Saturday (June 24th) at the Federal Way Little League Complex.
Their first game was Saturday against FME (Fife, Milton, Edgewood) and they ended up winning 9-1.  Carson's teammate Jett from his Bulldogs team was on FME.
He had two at bats- the first was the single below, and the 2nd was a ground out at first.
Their 2nd game was Sunday against Kent.  They won 11-0 in the 4th inning.
Carson had two at bats this game- he walked and then had the RBI single below.
The 3rd game was against South Hill Little League.  It was a really close, low scoring game.  Sadly we ended up losing 1-2.  Our pitcher (Easton) killed it and Garris hit a solo homerun!  We knew this team would be tough.  There are kids on it from New Level and the Bulldog Red select teams.  We'll get them next time!  There were only 3 hits from our team this whole game, including the homerun.  Carson and Ayden were the only other boys to get a hit.  I'm proud of them!
They won the 4th game against Chinook 4-3.  Another close, exciting but stressful game!

He hit 2 singles this game.  👏
The played South Hill again for game 5.  This was a nerve wracking game.  Pitching was great and Micah hit a 3 run homerun!  They ended up pulling off a win 8-6!  Unfortunately Carson didn't have any hits this game (he had 2 strikeouts), but he had multiple great fielding plays on 2nd.
They faced off against South Hill again for game 6- THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!  Now this was a stressful game.  They were on fire and played so well as a team.  They ended up winning 5-3! 😃
Carson had some great plays on 2nd base.  He actually assisted with the last play to win the game.  So proud of my boy!
RBI single
Single
It was such an exciting win for these boys.  Each game was better and better.  You could tell that they were trusting each other more and really starting to get into their groove as a team.
District 10 11u Champions!!  We are now headed to state in Anacortes, first game is July 22nd! 👏
The 10u team won the championship too!  They're headed to state in the Tri-Cities.
10u and 11u celebration at The Rock pizza after the winning games.  It was just a little crazy!
