We just returned from a spontaneous, last minute trip to Lake Cle Elum. We were hoping to camp, so we packed up and left Friday morning to check out a few campgrounds. After going to 4 campgrounds that were all full, we decided to stay in a hotel and just go play at the beach. It was a great decision. The kids got in some pool time, and plenty of beach time. I'm not the most spontaneous person, so it was a little stressful for me at first. It ended up being a really fun weekend with so many memories made. I am grateful for friends who go with the flow and put up with our crazy adventures!I had been wanting to check out this beautiful lake since I'd seen it on a friends social media. It did not disappoint. We were able to drive onto the beach right up to the water. Friday evening was pretty windy, but we still had a great time playing in the sand and swimming.
We came back Saturday morning to spend the day. The beach was really busy, but we were able to find a little sandy spot to set up camp. The kids loved riding on the truck bed down to the beach. The weather was amazing and we spent the day floating, swimming, digging holes in the sand, and indulging in delicious food and drinks!
We had planned on staying another night, but weren't able to find a decent hotel to stay in. We drove home at 8pm and stayed in our comfy beds. All in all, a super fun weekend was had by all. We will definitely be back to this gorgeous lake. Hopefully to camp next time!
