Dungeness trail hike with Uncle Peter

The kids have an annual tradition of going overnight hiking with Uncle Peter.  Unfortunately this year Rylee was sick so she wasn't feeling up to going.  Lance took her place instead.  The just did one night on the Dungeness Trail in Sequim.

They hiked about 3 miles to get to camp, and then another 3 miles to get up to the dinner lookout spot.
Freeze dried chili mac is a favorite on these camping trips!
Uncle Peter's dog Kody came along.  He's such a great hiking dog.  He even carries his own gear.
Another great adventure in the books!  What a cool tradition... I hope they continue these hikes for years to come!

Dewey Lake Hike

We've had some beautiful weather late this summer so Lance decided to take the kids on an overnight hike to Dewey Lake.
They had a great time hiking in and exploring around the lake.  The hammock is always a fun time as well!
They played lots of games after dinner.  The pic on the right is one Carson took underwater with Lance's phone.  Its pretty cool and clear!  They found a little cray fish and took him on some adventures with them.  He was pretty cute!
What a great way to end the summer!

First day of school- 6th & 8th at Lakeridge Middle School

First day of school!  The kids are both at Lakeridge Middle School this year.  Carson is in 6th grade and Rylee is in 8th.
The neighbor boys Weilan and Damon also started 6th at Lakeridge so we've been carpooling in the mornings.  So fun for Carson to have automatic friends at school.  They are also all in band so they have one for sure class together!

Camping at Squaw Rock

We camped at Squaw Rock Resort in Naches for labor day weekend.  We were dog sitting our friends dog, Tanner so we brought him along as well!
The campground wasn't the best.  The sites were small and right on top of each other.  Our site was on the river though and had a great view!  We were also right by the pool which was nice for the kids.
We walked down the river and found this little swimming hole.  The kids had fun jumping off rocks and throwing sticks for Tanner.
We went into town and bought a couple of river tubes for the kids.  They had a blast floating from the campsite to the swimming hole.  There was even some little rapids to go through.
Sunday we went into Naches and hiked the Tieton Nature trail.  It had a suspension bridge at the beginning of the trail which was exciting!
There was a little wooden bridge farther down the trail.  This one was fun too... but just a little sketchy!
Sunday night we went to this new brewery in Naches, Bron Yr Aur.  The pizza was to die for and they had margaritas on tap!  It was a perfect little spot... we'll definitely be back.
On the way home there was a herd of elk crossing the road.  So cool!  It was a great trip to end our camping season!

Beach House

I took the kids out to the beach house for a couple of days towards the end of summer break.  We've been so busy we hadn't been able to make it out there yet.  It's one of our favorite places!
Mandy and Jon were out of town so we took Kennedy along with us!  The kids did lots of kayaking and paddle boarding.  The weather was perfect and the water was so calm.
We spent some time at the pool.  The kids even got Kennedy to practice going under water!
It was fun having Kennedy there with us!  She is so sweet.
Carson was especially into kayaking this trip.  The kids ventured out for sunset and took some amazing pictures.
We saw a cool jellyfish.

Kennedy loved hanging out with the big kids on the water.  She likes to do everything they do!
We kayaked/ paddle boarded over to the island across the water and found the rope swing!  We had to go back in the morning to play on it one more time.  So much fun!
Kennedy even tried it out!
We had a great visit.  Grandma and Papa are the best hosts!  We stopped to see Aunt Diane on the way home.  She loves seeing the kids and hearing all the stories about them. 💗
