Springtime in Lake Chelan

We took a quick trip to Lake Chelan this weekend,  I got this great deal for this cute hotel we've stayed at before, it was 2 nights including a bottle of wine and 2 glasses plus lots of other coupons for only $189.  I jumped on it!  I love any excuse for a little getaway, especially to Lake Chelan!  We arrived Friday afternoon to a cute welcome sign, and a surprise... the pool was open!  It was a beautiful sunny day so we took our free wine and sat by the pool while the kids swam.  Heaven!

We started Saturday morning with coffee and a walk to the park.  The kids are little monkeys and love climbing trees.
After the park we decided to check out a couple of wineries.  We went to Vin Du Lac winery for the first time.  There was an amazing view of the lake and a big field for the kids to run around in.  We'll definitely be going back there.  We also visited Wapato Point Cellars, which is one of our favorites because of the large play area right outside the tasting room!
We checked out a cider place as well, Rootwood Cider Co, which was located very close to our hotel in downtown Manson.  How convenient!  The cider was delicious and they had lots of games and toys for the kids to play with.  Score!
Sunday we woke up to warm sunny weather and got some playtime in before the car ride home.  It was so hard coming back to the rain and cold!

Love notes

One morning Rylee wrote me the sweetest note on the whiteboard.  Made my day!
This was a note Carson wrote me after getting in trouble one day.  I love the x's and o's!  How can you be mad after that!?

Sunshine at the Spring Fair

We had the most beautiful Friday a couple weekends ago so we decided to go check out the spring fair.  The kids rode on their first non-kid ride... the Scrambler!  They were a little nervous at first, but they loved it and immediately wanted to do it again!
Carson's face cracks me up!  He was just a little unsure!
Rylee also rode her first non-kid roller coaster... the Wildcat!  I wish I had a video of her first ride.  Her face was white as a ghost and she had tears coming down her eyes.  She screamed louder than I've ever heard her scream, but she was in heaven.  It's fun to be scared!  I think I've created a monster.  She wanted to go on again and again, and then was ready to try every other adult ride too.  We'll have to wait for the real fair, and the dizzy passes for that!  Those rides are expensive!
They begged to go on the trampolines.  They flipped forward and back and Rylee even did 2 forward flips in a row.  Crazy kids.  Overall, a great day at the fair!

Happy Easter!

We started off Easter weekend with an egg hunt at Carson's school.

Saturday night we went out to visit my parents at their beach house.  It was a beautiful evening and Lance and the kids took full advantage of the prime fishing time.
Lance and Carson caught quite a few fish, even some salmon!  Yum.
Sunday we spent a lazy day decorating eggs, doing another egg hunt around the house, taking a walk in the sunshine, and eating a delicious Easter meal that my mom made.  What a great Easter Sunday!

Weekend at Skamania Lodge

We spent the last weekend of Spring break at Skamania Lodge, a beautiful resort in the Columbia River Gorge national scenic area.  The hotels grounds were stunning and we even got a little bit of sunshine while we were exploring.
The hotel had this gorgeous great room with a giant, beautiful fireplace, lots of big rocking chairs and cool views.
The kids' favorite part of the hotel was the play area (with a tire swing!), hiking the trails around the hotel, and of course the swimming pool and hot tub!  We walked the trails around the golf course and Carson kept asking if this was where the "mini vans" drive (he meant the golf carts).  It was pretty cute.
We spent Saturday adventuring around the little town of Stevenson.  We walked (and biked) around town and found a little beach to make a driftwood log cabin on.  The kids loved looking for treasures on the beach and throwing rocks in the water.
We found this cool little Brewery that was having a festival for April Fools Day.  They called it Fools Fest.  The brewery had live music all day and food and delicious beer!
Saturday night we had wine and s'mores by the fire.  It was a fun way to end an exciting weekend.
