Happy Halloween!

The kiddos had a fall carnival at their school Friday so they got to do a trial run with their costumes.  I might be a little biased, but aren't they adorable?

Fall festivities

We were really in the fall spirit today.  The chilly, overcast weather made it seem like the perfect day to catch up on some fall activities we hadn't had time to do yet.  Rylee made and decorated some pumpkin spice cookies pretty much by herself (I did the frosting).  They turned out delicious!  Then we went down to Spooner Farms for some pumpkin patch fun.  Finally, home to carve pumpkins and enjoy some homemade sourdough bread and chicken noodle soup.  Pretty much a perfect fall day!

Tractors, Combines and Corn... oh my!

We just got back from a busy, fun, family filled trip to Minnesota.  We were there for 5 days and every day was packed to the max.  The kids were amazing travelers.  I couldn't have asked for better behavior on this trip.  They made it easy for Mom and Dad to have lots of fun too!
We visited a really cool World War 2 museum.  It had so many cool planes... Carson was in heaven!
We drove down to Canby one day to visit Grandma Hazel.  The kids loved riding around on her walker, and she liked watching them play.
Papa Willis collects tractors, and he had 4 in his garage that he let us play around on.  Fun for the whole family!  Who doesn't love a good, fast tractor ride?
Uncle Brad and Aunt Barb's house was a ginormous playground for all of us.  We got to ride in the combine while he harvested some corn,  ride around on his 4 wheeler, hang out in some big trucks, and Rylee's favorite- play with the baby kittens in the barn.  She said that was the best part of the trip.  She even named her favorite kitty Sarah.
Grandma Arlyss put on a great party to celebrate Mandy and Jon.  It was fun seeing (and meeting) family that we never get to see.  Of course the food was amazing too.  We played a lot of bean bag (I should say WON a lot of bean bag), and played lots of card games.
Sunday we had Carson baptized in Grandma Arlyss' church.  Rylee was baptized there too on our last trip.  It was a very special time and I'm thankful for the family and friends who came to witness it.  Carson was such a good boy and didn't even cry when the pastor put water on his head!
It was a great trip filled with a lot of new memories.  I only wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!

Fun with friends at Fox Hollow Farm

What a fun way to spend a beautiful day!  We drove over to Issaquah to meet some friends and check out Fox Hollow Farm.  The kids had so much fun and the mom's did too!  We rode horses, played in little play houses, pet pigs, goats, horses and baby kitties, bounced in a bouncy house, rode John Deer cars, looked at pumpkins, had a picnic lunch and rode a choo choo train!

It's fun being 4!

I took the day off from work on Rylee's birthday so we could have some fun girl time.  We dropped Carson at school and started our day with relaxing mani-pedis (Rylee's idea).
Next we drove up to Southcenter Mall and checked out The Disney Store.  She spent lots of time in there, coloring and deciding what she wanted to buy.  She eventually settled on a Little Mermaid jewelry box and Princess t-shirt.
Next we stopped at the Rain forest Cafe for lunch.  Rylee loved watching the fish, monkeys, and elephants.
We ended our shopping trip with a birthday cake pop from Starbucks.  Delicious!  Then we headed home to spend the rest of the evening with Carson and Dad.  Happy birthday sweet girl!
