Grandparent visit

My grandparents stopped for a visit on their way back from Arizona.  They hadn't met baby Kennedy yet so I'm sure they were just dying for some baby snuggles!
We spent our time ooh-ing and ah-ing over the baby and playing cards.  Pretty darn perfect!
Their visit was definitely not long enough.  Now they are headed back to snowy Minnesota.  I miss them already!

First school dance- "Spring Fling"

The kids had their first school dance last Friday.  It was a western theme and it was so cute!  They had been learning a dance to "Cotton Eye Joe" in music class, and they got to perform it at the dance.  Carson was hilarious to watch.  He just did his own thing all night, dancing from group to group.  He was totally in his element.
Carson's neighborhood buddies (Weilon and Bryce) were there, and Rylee's friend Joanna was there and they were inseparable all night.
There was a hula hoop contest (see videos), limbo, and lots of prizes and treats.  Such a fun night!

Easter weekend 2018

We just had a beautiful sunny Saturday so we decided to do the Easter festivities a day early.  Luckily the Easter bunny was thinking the same thing and hid eggs while we were on a beach walk.  The kids found 96 eggs around the house and garage.  I'd say they were just a little spoiled this year!  The bunny also brought them an Easter basket full of goodies on Sunday.
Saturday was so warm we spent all day outside, fishing, kayaking and just enjoying the sun.

The kids kayaked (with my mom and Lance) over to "hope island" to play on the rope swing.  It was Carson's first time checking it out, and I think he liked it.  He only fell twice!  😜

Spring Break 2018

Spring break did not go exactly as planned.  Rylee ended up getting sick the Friday before spring break and then Carson got sick not long after.  By Wednesday they were feeling better so we had to squeeze in as many fun activities as we could to make up for lost time.  While Rylee was sick Carson and I were able to sneak away to go to Menchies for ice cream and also visit baby Kennedy.  Carson just loves his alone time without sister!
When they were both on the mend we ventured out to see a movie (Peter Rabbit)
and then go skating.  They both participated in the races and scored a free soda.  They were pretty excited about that.
We also went bowling with our neighbor friends, Weilon and Eldon.  The kids had a great time.  The parents had fun bowling too!  I have to admit, I absolutely love bowling!!

The rest of spring break was spent celebrating Easter at the beach house with my parents.
